About the company:

Barry Goldblatt Literary LLC has been representing a wide range of authors and artists in the book industry for almost twenty years. With a background in subsidiary rights, Barry Goldblatt opened his agency in the fall of 2000 and never looked back. Barry currently represents picture book, middle grade, YA, graphic novels for all ages, and Adult Sci-fi and Fantasy authors and illustrators. Jennifer Udden, who got her start working at the Donald Maas Agency, joined BGL as an agent in 2016. As a small company, we offer the opportunity for an intern to learn about the world of publishing from an industry veteran and a team of book-lovers based in Brooklyn, NY. Intern Tasks:

Tasks may include but are not limited to reading and evaluating manuscripts, data entry, and other administrative support.

Qualifications must include:

  • Excellent reading comprehension skills
  • Interest in the book publishing industry
  • Must be self-driven and able to work independently as well as with a team
  • Able to multi-task and budget time efficiently
  • Proficient in word, excel, other computer systems a plus

Availability: June 3, 2019 through August 2019

The internship is located in Brooklyn, NY, and the candidate must be able to work 3 full days per week from our office in person Monday through Thursday.

Compensation: $15.00 per hour for a maximum of 24 hours per week.
